A marketing manager jokingly asked me to define love: I told her βLove is like calculusβ and I began explaining the concept of differentiation to her. She was clueless and remarked βHuh? β¦ I donβt understandβ So, I responded βit takes time to understand calculus, some questions youβll never figure out, sometimes youβll feel like giving upβ¦ Β but when you put in the effort, Β when you try to understand the problem, when you never give upβ¦ youβll understand. If, however, you cheat on your exam, youβll probably get an A but you wonβt be able to pass integration (Calculus 2).β
Then she said to meβ¦ βLove is like Gap Analysisβ and she began explaining the concept of some fancy marketing stuffβ¦
At the end of our conversation, she said βmy best friend knew that she wanted to be a doctor from she was 10 years oldβ¦ she was heartbroken when she didnβt get into med school after completingΒ her 1st degreeβ¦ but she kept trying and eventually she got accepted. She graduated a few years ago and sheβs now a Cardiologist. She recently left her boyfriend because she no longer felt the same way about himβ¦ Maybe Iβll tell her that βLove is like Cardiology.β
